O, let us exalt our dear Lord and proclaim,
In songs of true gratitude, praise to His name!
As songs of the angels in sweetest accord,
Our thanks and our praises shall rise to the Lord.

Author Bio Information

Tennyson, Alfred Lord's bio information

Sunday, August 6, 1809 - Thursday, October 6, 1892

Born: August 6, 1809, Somersby, Lincolnshire, England.
Died: October 6, 1892, Aldworth House, near Haslemere, Surrey, England.
Buried: Poets’ Corner, Westminster Abbey, London, England.

Tennyson was one of the best known English poets of the 19th Century. Here’s one of his poems we particularly like:

More things are wrought by prayer
Than this world dreams of. Wherefore, let thy voice
Rise like a fountain for me night and day.
For what are men better than sheep or goats
That nourish a blind life within the brain,
If, knowing God, they lift not hands of prayer
Both for themselves and those who call them friend?
For so the whole round earth is every way
Bound by gold chains about the feet of God.
