Gesius, Bartholomaus's bio information

Tuesday, November 20, 1554 - Friday, November 30, 1612

Born: Circa 1555, Münchberg, Prussia.

Died: 1613, Wittenberg, Germany, of the plague.

Gesius studied theology at Frankfurt, was a cantor in Wittenberg, then Frankfurt an der Oder from 1592. His religious compositions include a Passion according to St. John. His other works include:

* Synopsis musicae practicae (editions in 1609, 1615, 1618)
