Died: May 22, 1781, Kensington, England.

Buried: Grosvenor Chapel, South Audley Street, London, England.

Earl of Mornington

Wellesley attended and later taught at Dublin University. His son became the first Duke of Wellington, and he himself held the title of the Earl of Mornington. The family name was changed to Wellesley in 1798. He composed “Chant in E,” from which the tune “Mornington” is arranged.
