Lyrics
A silent angel glideth, throughout this world he goes,
His comfort he provideth for earthly needs and woes,
And in his glance, he showeth his mildness far and wide.
O follow where he goeth, this patient angel guide.
He faithfully does lead thee all through this painful clime,
So pleasantly he tells thee about a home sublime.
If thou would be despondent, he will encourage thee.
O, bear thy cross! He's present to help and comfort thee.
He helps in all thy weakness, thy greatest griefs to bear.
He bathes thy heart with meekness, and takes away thy care.
He makes the gloomy hour become more bright again.
His steady, certain power will heal thy evry pain.
He hath for thy petition no ready, clear replies.
"Soon comes the glad fruition, endure!" his motto cries.
Thy courage he's renewing, and yet his words are few
As up ahead we're viewing God's city fair and new.
