Lyrics
At Home, oh what a pleasant place,
T'ward Home I now have set my face.
O Home, O place so wondrous fair,
How I am longing to be there!
In pilgrim's dale I yet must dwell
Among the friends I love so well.
Yet, Home, my whole heart calls to thee,
I yearn with there with my Lord to be.
"Am I yet far removed from Home?"
Thus asks my heart while here I roam.
Who'll tell me if I'm drawing near
To my bright Home and Shepherd dear?
At Home there longs my soul to be,
At Home from pain and sorrow free,
At Home no more beset by sin,
Where scorners cannot enter in.
Here have I no abiding place,
Therefore my heart would see God's face.
This tearful vale where cares oppress
Is not the pilgrim's place of rest.
Thus tarry here, O homesick heart,
Soon shall Christ ease thy pain and smart.
So hope yet, weary heart, be still,
God calls thee home when 'tis His Will.
T'ward Home I now have set my face.
O Home, O place so wondrous fair,
How I am longing to be there!
In pilgrim's dale I yet must dwell
Among the friends I love so well.
Yet, Home, my whole heart calls to thee,
I yearn with there with my Lord to be.
"Am I yet far removed from Home?"
Thus asks my heart while here I roam.
Who'll tell me if I'm drawing near
To my bright Home and Shepherd dear?
At Home there longs my soul to be,
At Home from pain and sorrow free,
At Home no more beset by sin,
Where scorners cannot enter in.
Here have I no abiding place,
Therefore my heart would see God's face.
This tearful vale where cares oppress
Is not the pilgrim's place of rest.
Thus tarry here, O homesick heart,
Soon shall Christ ease thy pain and smart.
So hope yet, weary heart, be still,
God calls thee home when 'tis His Will.
