Bürde, Samuel Gottlieb, was born Dec. 7, 1753, at Bresiau, where his father was keeper of St. Barbara's Church. After studying law at the University of Halle, he was (1776-78) tutor and superintendent of a charity school at Breslau. He then became private secretary to the Cabinet minister von Haugwitz, was for two years employed in the department of Forestry, and after being for some time secretary to the department of Finance at Breslau, was appointed member of the Aulic Council and Director of Chancery at Berlin, where he d. April 28, 1831 (Koch, vi. 319-322; Allg. Deutsche Biographie, iii. 581-82. Fischer, ii. 432, says he died at Breslau).

As a hymn-writer he was by some of his contemporaries reckoned nearly equal to Gellert, by others as superior. Of the some 100 hymns which he composed, the best appeared in his Geistliche Poesieen, Breslau, 1787, and his Geistliche Gedichte, Breslau, 1817. Five have been translated into English.

Johann Peter Ritter (2 July 1763 - 1 August 1846) was a German composer, conductor, chorus master, and cellist born and died in Mannheim, Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg, Germany). He is best known in the United States for "Sun of My Soul" and "Holy God, We Praise Thy Name."

Peter Ritter was son of the oboist Georg Wilhelm Ritter and the nephew of the bassoonist Georg Wenzel Ritter. He was a student of Abbé Vogler, who also taught Giacomo Meyerbeer and Carl Maria von Weber. He played cello in the orchestra of the Mannheim National Theatre beginning in 1786 and became one of its concertmasters in 1801. From 1803 to 1823 he worked as its conductor. His successor was the Antonio Salieri student, Michael Frey.

In addition to more than 20 stage works, including Die lustige Weiber, one of the earliest known operas after William Shakespeare and one of ten operatic adaptations of The Merry Wives of Windsor. Ritter also composed church music and various instrumental works. His brother, Heinrich Ludwig Ritter, became known as a violinist, his, son Karl August Ritter, was a singer.

Born in the Van Wert Ohio County Hospital on June 27, 1960, Alvin (Bud) Herman Manz, Jr. was the 3rd of 4 sons born to Betty Manz and firstborn to her second husband, Alvin.

His older siblings, John Paul Rose, Jr. (1956) and Joseph Henry Rose (1957), were born to John Paul Rose. In 1958, John Sr. passed away leaving Betty with 2 little boys to care for until she met Alvin Manz and got married to him on October 3, 1959.

Bud's younger sibling, Robert James Manz, Sr., was born on August 23, 1961.

Bud never married, instead he lives with his father just south of Defiance Ohio.
