O, let us exalt our dear Lord and proclaim,
In songs of true gratitude, praise to His name!
As songs of the angels in sweetest accord,
Our thanks and our praises shall rise to the Lord.

Lyrics
Blest times we are desiring,
For God is ever kind.
On ev'ry side we're seeing
His goodness to mankind.
But yet we're seldom strong,
When stormy times are times nearing,
And our faint hearts are fearing;
May we Him humbly seek.

The outward man seems brightened,
But inwardly we fret;
Our load will soon be lightened,
But are we thankful yet?
Mankind does ev er seek
For great unmeasured treasure,
God's manna brings no pleasure,
The appetite is weak.

Is it not any wonder
That thorns the earth infest?
The load that we groan under
Is found in earth's unrest.
The Godless do demand,
Their hearts through sin distressing,
They push away the blessing
From God's Almighty Hand.

O, Lord, help our condition
In ev'ry time and place.
May change come to fruition,
Help us to live by grace.
We can repent through Thee,
Oh Lord, may Thou convert us,
Whatever would subvert us,
Help us to shun and flee.
