O, let us exalt our dear Lord and proclaim,
In songs of true gratitude, praise to His name!
As songs of the angels in sweetest accord,
Our thanks and our praises shall rise to the Lord.

Lyrics
Beloved brethren, fare ye well!
As we must part in love we tell,
Farewell; until we meet again
Perhaps before God's throne to stand.

How oft did Jesus come so near
That we were moved with godly fear,
And when our hearts, inflamed with love,
Received the blessing from above.

How oft did God our spirits raise
When we in pray'r did seek His grace;
And there before His throne did plead
The Son of God to intercede!

Should we be severed far apart
We know the Lord leads ev'ry heart
He, as the Shepherd, full of love
Will gather us to heav'n above.

There reunited we will be,
Where parting tears no more we'll see.
With countless hosts we shall adore
And praise our God forevermore.

Chorus:
Farewell, farewell, farewell, farewell!
Our dear, cherished brethren, fare ye well!
