Forward Christian-- armed with prayer:
Noise of battle fills the air,
Foes of truth arise in might,
Warring 'gainst the hosts of right;
Ever forward to the fray,
It is Christ who leads the way;
In His strength we cannot fail,
In His might we shall prevail.

Onward Christian-- darkness flies,
Beams of morning streak the skies:
Hark the battle-sound afar,
Calling us to Zion's war;
Forward then-- we must not yield,
Faith, from sin's vile darts, will shield;
God's own truth our loins will gird,
We will wield the Spirit's sword.

Upward Christian-- look on high,
Jesus comes-- the end is nigh;
With the shout of conq'ring right
Ransomed saints are bro't to light;
Then, that day, the saints descend,
Satan's bound, his reign at end;
Christ in pomp and triumph high
Reigns on earth eternally.
