O, let us exalt our dear Lord and proclaim,
In songs of true gratitude, praise to His name!
As songs of the angels in sweetest accord,
Our thanks and our praises shall rise to the Lord.

Text from Acts 1:9

Lyrics
Hail the day that sees him rise,
Heav'nward from our wishful eyes!
Christ, awhile to mortals giv'n,
Reascends His native heav'n!

There the glorious triumph waits;
Lift your heads, eternal gates!
Wide unfold the radiant scene;
Take the King of glory in!

Circled 'round with angel pow'rs,
Their triumphant Lord and ours;,
Conqueror o'er death and sin;
Take the King of glory in!

Him tho' highest heav'n receives,
Still He loves the earth He leaves;
Tho' returning to His throne,
Still he calls mankind His own.

Saviour, parted from our sight,
High above yon azure height,
Grant our hearts may thither rise,
Foll'wing Thee above the skies.
