O, let us exalt our dear Lord and proclaim,
In songs of true gratitude, praise to His name!
As songs of the angels in sweetest accord,
Our thanks and our praises shall rise to the Lord.

Lyrics
O Jesus, my sustainer,
My comfort in distress;
To Thee I would surrender
My all in life or death;
I would be wholly Thine,
O Christ, my soul's Redeemer,
And ever art Thou mine!

Thou, Lord, in death did save us
Through Thy love's gentle might,
Beset by hosts rebellious,
Oppressed through torturous night;
Yet vict'ry Thou didst win,
And broke death's bitter bondage,
And saved the world from sin.

Now Thy redeemed are singing,
From guilt and death set free;
And praise to Thee they're bringing
For Thy great clemency;
O Saviour, in distress,
My soul shall yet sing anthems
Of Thy great faithfulness!

And should the world forsake me
In bitter suffering;
Yet this truth shall uphold me
And ever comfort bring:
My treasure is my Lord!
My Jesus lives! And henceforth
All earthly gain's abhorred.

In Thee is life eternal,
My light in darkest night;
I'll laud Thy name supernal
With all my soul and might,
While here in earthly strife;
Then soon in peaceful pastures
Of everlasting life!

Soon shall I live forever
In Thy sweet realm of rest,
And there I'll praise Thee, Saviour,
With all the just and blest!
In strength, O Lord, draw me,
And thus, with joy, I'll hasten,
My path leads up to Thee.
