O, let us exalt our dear Lord and proclaim,
In songs of true gratitude, praise to His name!
As songs of the angels in sweetest accord,
Our thanks and our praises shall rise to the Lord.

Lyrics
My ship speeds briskly onward
To heaven's harbor fair;
My voyage soon is ended,
I'll rest forever there.
I see the beacon shining,
The lighthouse is aglow;
For heaven I'm preparing,
As gladly home I go.

O little ship, now hurry!
Ye sails now rise and swell!
Here would I no more tarry
Where storms the light dispel.
My life long I'm contesting
Thru floods and fiercest gales;
Though I endure harsh testing,
By grace I shall prevail.

My Jesus is my helmsman,
He keeps my ship on course;
I yield to His dominion,
His blessing my resource.
I trust with all my being
His grace thru darkest night;
I hope I'll soon be seeing,
My God, my Lord and Light.

Upon my ship is waving
The flag of my Lord dear;
Its emblem is declaring:
"Repose and joy are near,
And Christ's own there will enter."
This gives me peace anew,
When hov'ring clouds of danger
My courage would subdue.

Secure I'll journey onward
For Jesus sails with me;
My soul He beckons heav'nward
Through woes and misery.
When tempests fierce are raging,
'Tis Christ's almighty hand,
Which is my soul defending,
Guides me to Heaven's strand.

So, little ship, now hasten,
I'm yearning for my home!
There storms and tumults ended
The billows no more foam;
I see the harbor nearing
The City of my Lord;
For His sheep He's preparing
A heavenly reward.
