My Savior is my Pilot true,
His grace my strength provides;
No other friend have I so true,
So steadfast at my side;
My ship of faith so watertight
And soundly He did make.
He governs wind and sea with might;
He'll not my soul forsake!
Oft He allows my ship to toss,
At length through storm and night,
Yet He preserves my soul from loss
And keeps the goal in sight;
My soul in Him doth anchor find,
The wind He rules with care;
A harbor safe He has in mind
And guides me safely there.
And if my faith should sink, He's near,
A refuge strong for me;
At His command, the tempests clear,
He calms the storm and sea!
He calls: "Fear not, I am with thee;
Believe and trust my love!
In gloomy nights, my beacon see;
It lights the way above."
