Lyrics
I've heard the sound of my dear Saviour's voice,
Sweet is the echo bidding me rejoice;
It thrills my heart with music from above
And with a rapture of redeeming love.
His Shepherd voice delighted me to hear:
When I was lost I heard Him calling near;
He bade my soul, unsafe and sore oppressed,
"Come unto Me and I will give you rest."
His loving voice, there is none quite so dear
In darkest hours it brings the needed cheer,
How glad the promise of my Saviour-Friend:
"Lo! I am with you, even to the end."
Chorus:
How sweet the voice, how wonderful the sound,
Down in my soul its echoes ere abound,
Oh, for the time when we with Him abide!
I shall in heav'n be near His side!
Sweet is the echo bidding me rejoice;
It thrills my heart with music from above
And with a rapture of redeeming love.
His Shepherd voice delighted me to hear:
When I was lost I heard Him calling near;
