Firmly trust thy God indeed;
He would only make thee worthy
By this fear and dire need.
O let not thy heart be vanquished
By the Satan's evil might.
Lo, thy blessed Saviour's pathway
Also led through darkest night.
Wouldst thou wholly live for Jesus,
Then all self must disappear,
Yield yourself to Him here fully
Walk with Him in Godly fear.
Therefore, let all doubting vanish;
Cling to Christ with all thy might.
For His child He hath intended
Only what is good and right.
