O, let us exalt our dear Lord and proclaim,
In songs of true gratitude, praise to His name!
As songs of the angels in sweetest accord,
Our thanks and our praises shall rise to the Lord.

Text from Psalm 126

Lyrics
When the Lord shall return His elect from captivity,
'Twill seem like a wonderful dream to us!
Our mouth shall be filled with laughing glee,
Our tongue sing His praises with jubilee!
Men shall relate it telling the heathen: "The Lord has done wond'rous things unto them!"
In this we glory, in this we glory
The Lord has done wondrous things for us!
Lord, free us then, from our bondage,
As brooks of water thou dost drain at noontide!
After tearful sowing follows a joyful harvest.
They venture forth with weeping
With precious seed entrusted
And come with rejoicing and come with rejoicing
Their sheaves of vict'ry bringing!
After tearful sowing follows a joyful harvest, a joyful harvest!
