O, let us exalt our dear Lord and proclaim,
In songs of true gratitude, praise to His name!
As songs of the angels in sweetest accord,
Our thanks and our praises shall rise to the Lord.

Lyrics
Why come ye at break of morning,
To the Lord's grave in such deep mourning;
Who'll roll the heavy stone away?
'Tis away; oh, do not murmur!
Ye faithful ones, come now, draw nearer,
The stone is gone Oh, look there in!
See angels in the cleft!
Bring joy to you bereft,
Hosanna, hosanna,
Why seek with tears the Master here?
He is not dead, rejoice, He lives!

Soon from tongue to tongue expounding,
The resurrection joy is sounding;
His followers await their Lord.
Ev'ning comes, they tarry longing.
Still trusting, hoping, tearful, doubting,
Will He come? Hope! He's ever near.
Behold from Emmaus.
They bring tidings joyous:
Jesus liveth, Jesus liveth.
Thru pain and scorn to glory's realm,
Thus was His way, our salvation.

Songs of praise to Thee are swelling,
From thousand thankful voices telling;
Oh, holy Hero evermore!
Death is now sweet for believers;
In Jesus we are heaven's heirs;
The sting of death is now no more.
For after the grave's rest.
Jesus shall call His blest,
Child awaken! Child awaken!
He went before thru heaven's door,
And brings us to our Father's house!
