Know ye the Son, the sacred Son of God?
The Hero great is born in Bethlehem! He came to us from His exalted throne, As prince of peace, as God's eternal Son! Know ye this Son? Yea, He is known, The dauntless Hero, God's own Son! Know ye the Son, who came of royal birth? A star foretells His coming to this earth! The seeking men it leads to Bethlehem, In manger low they find and worship Him! Know ye this Son? Yea, He is known, The Most Exalted, God's own Son! Know ye the Lord, the gracious friend of Man, Who clothed Himself in pilgrim's garment plain? He came to us the prince of David's house! An angel's message did the world arouse! The Son has come! From heaven's dome Resounds the angel's joyous song! |
