O, let us exalt our dear Lord and proclaim,
In songs of true gratitude, praise to His name!
As songs of the angels in sweetest accord,
Our thanks and our praises shall rise to the Lord.

Lyrics
God, my hope and consolation,
Ever Thou my refuge be!
In Thy care I'll find protection,
Though no other light I see.
Oft on rugged road of sadness
I find comfort, joy and gladness;
Guided by Thy hand alone,
"Thine and not my will be done."

All things be to Thee committed;
All Thou doest is well done;
If for death or life I'm fitted,
Thy commands I'll never shun.
Though the burden oft be grievous,
Thou dost comfort and relieve us;
Guided by Thy hand alone,
"Thine and not my will be done."

Lead me, Lord, as Thou best knowest
How before Thee I should live;
If but Thou my footstep guidest,
Joy and blessings I receive.
If in grace with Thee I'm standing,
Dangers fade at Thy commanding;
Guided by Thy hand alone,
"Thine and not my will be done."

Though I meet with pain and sorrow,
Oft must feel how hard it be
Through afflictions here to struggle,
Yet my God shall faithful be.
Thou dost help my burden carry;
Should I comfortless then tarry?
Guided by Thy hand alone,
"Thine and not my will be done."

In Thy hands I am committed,
Father, with content repose;
Ev'ry charge shall be acquitted;
Turned to bliss shall be my woes.
When at last from heaven's portal,
I review my lifepath mortal,
I shall utter, deeply moved,
"O how truly Thou hast loved!"
