Thou mighty Ruler of Zion and the earth
We lift our thankful hearts to Thee on this day!
Thy grace and mercy hath blessed us ere we slept
And raised us up this morning so we kneel and pray.
We ask Thee, Father, that as we look to Thee,
That Thou wilt bless our labor upon this day.
We trust Thy goodness and feel no great alarm,
As to the cross we're clinging close by Thee, we'll stay.
May sinners see Thee in our hearts brightly shine,
And come to know Thee, Saviour, e'en now, today!
Oh, may no action, or word of thoughtless speech
Be once named here among Thy children, Lord, we pray.
