With your Zion's harps now chiming,
Praise the Lord! Let's do our best.
Soon will come the time of parting;
We'll be laid in earth to rest.
Exercise yourself in praising
The true God, and laud His fame,
Tho' our faith at times be waning,
We find courage in His name.
They above are ever singing
Anthems God hath taught to them,
And He faileth not in teaching
Us to sing and praise His name.
He hath now our hearts inspired
With a true and fervent love;
Gifted us with voice and talents,
Thus to praise His name above.
See them, who their harps suspending
On the weeping willow tree,
Lacking zeal, Thy pardon spurning,
They could not rejoice in Thee.
But we are in Thee confiding,
Freed from Babylon and sin;
Even tho' our life they threaten,
Thou, O Lord, wilt help us win!
