Trees of Life in Heav'n are blooming
By the crystal river bright;
There the pilgrim finds his homeland
Far beyond earth's starry night;
And there dwells the holy chorus
Singing praise unto the Lamb;
How I long to journey onward
To that beautiful Homeland!

Here on earth I am a stranger,
Now in fleshly garments dressed,
But above in Heaven's dwelling
Is my Fatherland of rest.
How my soul is greatly longing
Ever with my Lord to be,
With the countless overcomers
There from sin and sorrow free,

Oh that ev'ry weary sinner,
Who is burdened down with care,
For God's grace would make petition,
Seek the Homeland wondrous fair;
For whose heart seeks God's Will ever,

Help me reach my blessed goal!
