When in troubling days so fearful,
Heavy hearted, spent and tearful,
Help and comfort seems afar,
Then draw to the Lord; don't tarry,
He delights your load to carry.
God hears ev'ry sincere prayer.
Though thy tears be overflowing,
God gives grace; He is all-knowing;
Come to Him with childlike plea.
When thy burdens here are pressing,
Leave them in God's hands caressing;
He thy sure defense shall be.
Though the light seems dim and dreary,
God gives help that we may carry
In humility our cross.
When our pain seems as disaster,
Let us look unto our Master,
