There is a city eternal up in heaven.
It is resplendent with light and endless day.
With many mansions for those who are forgiven,
My home forever someday, O Lord, I pray!
Around that city are walls of shining jasper.
The streets are paved with pure transparent gold.
There is a river with clear and living water.
O wondrous city, the half has not been told!
Along that river the tree of life is growing.
There is a rainbow around the throne of God.
No sun is needed, God's glory will be shining.
My goal is yonder those golden streets to trod!
A day is coming with earthly life is over,
'Tis when the ransomed wil meet out Lord and King.
O hallelujah! Thro' pearly gates I'll enter,
And in that city a new song I will sing!
