As a child I was taught to believe in a God
Who created the earth and the heavens up above;
And with Jesus His Son, heaven's plan now is done:
Full redemption for me, O wondrous love!
Ev'ry day that I travel along in this world
I can trust in my God who will lead me all the way;
Ev'ry step that I make, ev'ry path that I take,
By my side He will guide me ev'ry day!
What a wonderful thought just to know God is there
For each trial and care; ev'ry burden He will share.
I can call on His name; He is always the same;
And I know He will hear my ev'ry pray'r!
As the years come and go I will trust in my God,
I will lean on His Word and depend upon His grace.
I do earnestly pray, at the end of life's day,
I will see God my Father face to face!
