I am striving, Life reviving
Where I find delight.
I am wresting, E'er contesting,
Till I win the fight,
When detained, I break away;
When I'm faint, God's Word doth say:
Keep enduring, Persevering,
Win the treasure bright!
As anointed And appointed
To Thy presence, Lord,
I will hasten, Lest in wasting
I lose my reward.
He who loiters in this race
Never shall the crown embrace!
Worldly treasures, Sinful pleasures
Are alike abhorred.
O protect me And direct me,
Lord to yonder goal!
Ever guiding, Strength providing
For my weary soul.
Warn me from the worldly lure,
Help its mockings to endure!
In Thy mercy Lead me safely
From its luring call!
Draw me ever, My endeavor
Is but feeble, Lord!
Tho' my failing Is prevailing
Thou dost strength afford.
For Thy blood doth life impart
And Thy spirit fills my heart.
At the crowning Songs resounding
Blend in sweet accord.
