Lord, keep Thy presence in my life,
Help me o'ercome this earthly strife.
If Thou, Thy blessings do withhold,
Thy tender love fail to unfold,
I would be helpless.
Thy tender, loving mercies, mild,
Watched o'er my life e'en as a child.
And, even then, through tender years,
With all the heartbreak, pain and tears,
Thou wast always there!
Then through my young, rebellious life,
Thou didst protect from pain and strife.
And when I struggled hard with sin,
Thou guid'st me on and took me in.
Thou art still my Light!
Lord, as I look at future years,
I pray Thee, "Fill my failing ears,
With things of Thee, as Thou art true,
At my life's end, Thy face to view!"
