O someday, with trump of God and a shout,
And sound of the arch-angel's voice,
From Heaven the Lord Himself shall descend;
So let us be glad and rejoice.
On that day the dead in Christ shall rise first,
And those of His own who remain
Together with Him shall meet in the clouds
Without any dying or pain.
Then sorrow we not as those without hope,
But comfort ourselves with this word,
That all those in Him, when He shall return,
Forever shall be with the Lord.
