Carrie’s family moved from Vermont to Vineland, New Jersey, and she spent most of her life in southern New Jersey. She married Frank Breck, and they moved to Oregon between 1910 and 1920. A devout Christian, she was devoted to her husband and five daughters. She had no sense of pitch, and could not carry a tune, but she had the gift of poetic rhythm, and wrote more than 2,000 poems. She was not particularly robust in health, and had to take frequent rests while doing chores. At such times, she would sit in her favorite rocking chair, take up a notebook, and write poetry, often with a baby on her knee, or playing at her feet. Her works include:

Born: August 5, 1869, Bolton, Connecticut.

Died: May 20, 1950, Ocean Grove, New Jersey.

Buried: Restland Memorial Park, Hanover, New Jersey.

Tullar was named after the American President and Vice-President, Ulysses S. Grant & Schuyler Colfax. His father was unable to work, having been wounded in the American civil war Battle of Antietam. So, after Tullar’s mother died when he was two years old, the family split up. Grant had no settled home after that day until he became an adult.

As a child, he worked in a woolen mill and as a shoe clerk, and received virtually no education or religious training. He came to Christ at age 19 at a camp meeting near Waterbury, Connecticut. He then attended the Hackettstown Academy in New Jersey. Ordained a Methodist minister, he pastored for a short time in Dover, Delaware, then became a full time evangelist. In 1893, he and Isaac Meredith founded the Tullar-Meredith music publishing house in New York. His works include:

Born in the Van Wert Ohio County Hospital on June 27, 1960, Alvin (Bud) Herman Manz, Jr. was the 3rd of 4 sons born to Betty Manz and firstborn to her second husband, Alvin.

His older siblings, John Paul Rose, Jr. (1956) and Joseph Henry Rose (1957), were born to John Paul Rose. In 1958, John Sr. passed away leaving Betty with 2 little boys to care for until she met Alvin Manz and got married to him on October 3, 1959.

Bud's younger sibling, Robert James Manz, Sr., was born on August 23, 1961.

Bud never married, instead he lives with his father just south of Defiance Ohio.
