O, let us exalt our dear Lord and proclaim,
In songs of true gratitude, praise to His name!
As songs of the angels in sweetest accord,
Our thanks and our praises shall rise to the Lord.

Lyrics
Don't you see on heav'nly pastures
Our good, patient, Shepherd pass,
And by bloody footmarks tracing
Sheep and lambs in sore distress?
Do you know His flock so precious?
Do you know His Shepherd's staff,
Which new life and light so gracious
Unto earth and heaven gave?

See, a lamb away has wandered
And the Shepherd runs in haste,
Leaves the rest to seek the straying
Till He finds and holds it fast.
In His arms He bears it gently,
Soothes its sorrow and its pain,
Causes all its fears to vanish,
Brings it to the fold again.

Follow this good Shepherd solely,
Earthly pilgrims one and all!
Let Him then direct you wholly,
Follow gladly at His call!
Let Him to the flock then take you.
Trust ye in His pow'r to save!
Glad His ways fore'er will make you
Blessed who his heart Him gave!

Would you on this earthly journey
Feel such care and kind regard?
Come to Christ, the loving Shepherd;
Consecrate to Him your heart!
Lead me to Thy pleasant pastures,
To Thy living fount, O Lord;
And through joy and sorrow bring me
To that great and blest reward!
