Author Carrie (Mrs. Frank A.) Elizabeth Ellis Breck Carrie (Mrs. Frank A.) Elizabeth Ellis Breck's bio information January 22, 1855 - March 27, 1934 Born: January 22, 1855, Walden, Vermont. Died: March 27, 1934, Portland, Oregon. Buried: Rose City Cemetery, Portland, Oregon. Carrie’s family moved from Vermont to Vineland, New Jersey, and she spent most of her life in southern New Jersey. She married Frank Breck, and they moved to Oregon between 1910 and 1920. A devout Christian, she was devoted to her husband and five daughters. She had no sense of pitch, and could not carry a tune, but she had the gift of poetic rhythm, and wrote more than 2,000 poems. She was not particularly robust in health, and had to take frequent rests while doing chores. At such times, she would sit in her favorite rocking chair, take up a notebook, and write poetry, often with a baby on her knee, or playing at her feet. Composer William Howard Doane William Howard Doane's bio information February 3, 1831 - December 23, 1915 William was the fifth of eight children. His father was the head of Doane and Treat, cotton manufacturers. At a young age Doane showed impressive musical talent. By early adolescence he was playing the flute, violin and double bass fiddle. Arranger A. H. M. A. H. M.'s bio information June 27, 1960 - Born in the Van Wert Ohio Hospital on June 27, 1960, Alvin (Bud) Herman Manz, Jr. was the 3rd of 4 sons born to Betty Manz and firstborn to her second husband, Alvin. His older siblings, John Paul Rose, Jr. (1956) and Joseph Henry Rose (1957), were born to John Paul Rose. In 1958, John Sr. passed away leaving Betty with 2 little boys to care for until she met Alvin Manz and got married to him on October 3, 1959. Bud's younger sibling, Robert James Manz, Sr., was born on August 23, 1961. Bud never married, instead lives with his father just south of Defiance Ohio.
