O, let us exalt our dear Lord and proclaim,
In songs of true gratitude, praise to His name!
As songs of the angels in sweetest accord,
Our thanks and our praises shall rise to the Lord.

Lyrics
Lord, my salvation and my light,
May I be Thy reflection.
For of my life Thou art the might.
Thou healest imperfection.
Why do I doubt, whom shall I fear?
Who is he that can harm me here?
The Lord shall grant me courage.

When wicked foes around me came
To cast me down with fury,
God struck them swiftly down to shame;
He to my aid did hurry.
And should a host against me camp,
Yet I'll not fear, God is my lamp.
They to the earth shall stumble.

Lord, in Thy path may I be led,
Held close to Thee in favor.
O, may Thy care on me be shed.
In battle be my Saviour.
The evil one doth 'gainst me rise,
Bitterly he seeks my demise,
For He is filled with vengeance.

Yet have I courage and believe
That I shall see God's blessing.
Strength for my soul I do receive,
My fainting heart caressing.
Yea, undismayed and of good cheer,
He who with God does journey here
The victor's crown is gaining.
