Shepherds were watching their sheep in the night,
Stars in the sky over Bethlehem bright.

Telling the birth of a wonderful King!
Joseph and Mary with manger of hay,
Made there a cradle for baby to lay.
Born was the Christ child, His life would begin
There in a stable alongside the inn!
Then came the wise men from country afar,

Bringing rich gifts for this child who was King.
Wonderful Counsellor, peace He does bring!
