A man stood beside an oak tree long ago
And challenged God's people that day:
"Now whom will you serve, the true God or the world;
Your will, or God's will to obey?"

The people proclaimed their allegiance to God;
Beneath that oak tree they did pray.
A stone was set up to remind them always
Of Joshua's challenge that day.

Dear friend will you ponder what Joshua said
Beneath that oak tree long ago?
The crossroad of life is before you this day,
A choice as to which way to go.

Rise up, my dear friend, and proclaim loud and clear,
For all in the world who can hear:
"For me and my house, we are in one accord;
We gladly will serve our dear Lord!"

Now choose you this day, just who will you serve?
A choice between heaven or hell.
