O, let us exalt our dear Lord and proclaim,
In songs of true gratitude, praise to His name!
As songs of the angels in sweetest accord,
Our thanks and our praises shall rise to the Lord.

Memorial Day Hymn

Lyrics
Once more we meet, O Lord, before Thy throne,
To praise Thy name for heroes true and brave;
Whose noble hearts would not their flag disown,
But even dared to die our flag to save.

To honor our heroic dead we meet,
Within our hearts their mem'ries to enshrine;
Our living ones with heartfelt love to greet:
Thro' hardships borne, our stars, undimmed, yet shine.

Our God, our father's God, we trust Thee still,
And pray Thy blessing may with all abide;
Preserve our land from faction, strife and ill:
In Thee we trust and in Thy strength confide.

With thinning ranks we come, with aging years,
But with our faith in Thee, as ever, strong;
The roll-call's loss bedews our eyes with tears:
And for our final call we sometimes long.

How oft didst Thou, amid the battle's rage,
Defend and guard, protecting us from harm;
Our comrades fell but us, from youth to age,
Thy hand has kept, unto these days of calm.

Chorus:
We praise Thee, Lord, that held by Thine own hand,
Our flag yet waves: that flag we love so well;
We pray Thee yet and more to bless our land,
That coming years Thy goodness still may tell.
