O, let us exalt our dear Lord and proclaim,
In songs of true gratitude, praise to His name!
As songs of the angels in sweetest accord,
Our thanks and our praises shall rise to the Lord.

Lyrics
Ahead in life's pathway the road doth diverge.
There are no simple choices, but forks, splits and curves.
I tell God to guide me upon the right way,
I tell Him to show me His Will now, today.

I open the Bible then open again,
But nothing speaks plain so I open again.
The path is unclear and no answers I find
Now I plead, "God lead me out of this bind."

The clock shows no mercy, decision time's near.
My mind is confined with knots, doubts and fear.
I ask why God's leading Spirit's not near
I ask, "Wilt Thou leave me to doubt and fear?"

With heart and mind weary, I fall on my bed;
I have no more prayers, so I listen instead.
Then whispers a Voice tender, sweet and low,
He says, "My dear child, must you carry on so?"

"You're searching and searching, not waiting to hear
Your thinking has muddied a path that was clear.
I have here before Me a path you must tread
But I can't reveal till your heart can be led."

Now I am humbled, my heart burns with shame,
I pray, "Dear Lord, once more I call on Thy name.
Forgive me for boldly demanding Thy Will,
Forgive me for asking while keeping my will."
